NPFL: Eguma Rues Missed Chances, Shift Attention To Next Game
By Sampson Adedeji
Manager of Nigeria Professional Football League Club Rivers United, Stanley Eguma, has attributed his team's defeat to Kano Pillars to numerous chances missed by his players, BSNSports.com.ng reports
Striker Nyima Nwagua netted the only goal of the game as host Kano Pillars defeated Rivers United in the rescheduled game played on Wednesday.
While reacting after the game, Eguma recognised that his players played a good game and hope they can bounce back strongly in the next match
"It's not a bad game, we lost that game against the run of play. We conceded that goal out of the carelessness of the defence but it's part of the game. We have lost today, we have to go back to prepare for other games."
On not being able to breakdown a ten-man Pillars he said, "We tried our best to see how we could break Pillars defence but lots of misses of chances cost us defeat."
"It's another game, we have to go back and prepare for that game. The league is still 'hotting up' and every point is important. So those three points are very important and we have to work towards it to ensure that we win that game," he told the club media.
Rivers United will host Adamawa United in the match day 7 at the Adokie Amaisiemaka stadium in Port-Harcourt.
