NPFL:
NPFL: Enyimba Pip Sunshine At Agege Stadium By Omolagba Oluwayemi The last time Sunshine Stars won a match in the league was on the 31st of January 2021, and have since played 10 games without a win, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The return of the Oracle to the Owena Waves was tipped to be a good one with many tipping them to be among the contenders for the league title but fast forward to today, the team that once played continental football under the guidance of same coach cannot muster a win in 10 outings. Banished to the Soccer Temple, Agege Lagos following the events that happened in their last home game, many expected the match against Enyimba to be a tough one for the struggling Gunners and of course it was as they lost in their adopted home ground by a lone goal in the match day 17 of the NPFL. Obi's 50th minute goal was all that separated Enyimba from Sunshine Stars as it finished at the Soccer Temple Agege Lagos, Sunshine Stars 0-1 Enyimba. In the other fixtures, Enugu Rangers defeated Nasarawa United 2-0 to move joint top with Kwara United and Kano Pillars on 30 points. Aniefiok (2') and Chinonso (8') scored within the first 10 minutes of the tie to hand the Flying Antelopes 9th win of the season while at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Dakkada FC pipped Plateau United by a lone goal, Isaac (28') was the hero here. With Akwa United currently 4th on 29 points with a game in hand, Enyimba fifth on 27 points with four games in hand, the 2021 NPFL season is turning out to be the best we've witnessed in decades but that will only happen if those concern allows things flow naturally. The league returns on Sunday.
