NPFL: Enyimba Takes The Battle To The Enemies' Gate, Nasarawa Seeks Miracle In Nnewi
By Omolagba Oluwayemi
There is no doubt that this season's Nigeria Professional Football League will be one to remember for a long time as the competition is keenly contested both up and down the log, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
With just five points separating the first team on the log (Akwa Utd-57 points) from the sixth team (Rivers Utd-52 points), the battle for the most coveted price in the country is far from finish, and it continues this weekend with some title contenders going head-to-head.
Nigeria's most successful club in Africa, Enyimba FC will visit table toppers, Akwa United at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium-Uyo in a game we expect to be the match of the week.
With just three points separating both sides, Enyimba can shoot themselves to the summit of the log with a victory in Uyo.
Nasarawa United, second on the log with the highest goal-difference of the top six teams, pays a visit to FC Ifeanyi Ubah who are seeking for an escape route out of the relegation zone. It's going to be a cracker in Nnewi.
Kano Pillars will look to have their way when they visit relegation threatened Sunshine Stars of Akure while Kwara United, another team in the top six will hope they can relaunch a bid for their first ever domestic league title when they trade-tackle Imama Amapakabo's Abia Warriors in Abia State.
Rivers United have a relatively easy fixture of the six teams mathematically still in contention for the NPFL title as they play host to Wikki Tourist of Bauchi.
Adamawa United will need more than a miracle to beat the drop this season. One can easily advise they start using the remaining NPFL 2020/21 season prepare for life in the lower league. They will travel to Makurdi to face Lobi Stars.
Jigawa Golden Stars have their NPFL fate in their hands when Plateau United comes visiting.
We keep our fingers crossed especially in this interesting weekend of the 2020/21 NPFL season as they'll definitely going to be a reshuffling both in the top and bottom half of the table.
All match day 32 of the 2020/21 NPFL season will be played on Sunday by 4pm except the match between Dakkada FC and Heartland FC will which come up on Saturday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium by 4pm.
