For improper conduct in the ongoing 2020/2021 season of the Nigeria Professional Football League, the hammer of the League Management Company ( LMC) have fell on the head coach of the Jigawa Golden Star Gilbert Opana, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The gaffer was alleged to have refused to participate in the post match conference after the match involving his team and Kwara United.
He was also found to have blame the match officials for poor handling of the game.
" Opana's conduct amounted to a breach of rule B6.27 (participating in post-match press conference), paragraph 7 of Appendix B: Code of Conduct for Managers & Coaches (public criticism of officials and failure to co-operate with officials involved in the game)...... and C1.1 (misconduct) of the Framework and Rules.
The Jigawa coach has been fined the sum of N250,000 and is banned from NPFL matches and activities for a period of two matches (commencing from the next fixture - Matchday 7)," LMC said.
