NPFL: Kano Pillars Boosted With Bonus Payment
Ahead of Monday’s Nigeria Professional Football League Match Day 9 cracker against Ifeanyi Ubah FC, Kano Pillars players and technical crew morale have been boosted by the state Government after releasing their 5-match outstanding bonuses to them before the kickoff of the match on Monday.
This was disclosed by the Chairman of the club, Alhaji Surajo Shuaibu Jambul, while addressing the team on Sunday evening at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, Rivers state shortly after their light shakeups training.
The Sai Masu Gida are enjoying a good run of results in the league and paying the match bonuses is expected to go a long way in boosting the players morals.
The seasoned administrator said, the Kano state Government, under the leadership of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje have released the money means to pay the players their bonuses to the club.
“You know, you are owing 5 match bonuses so far in the ongoing 2020/21 NPFL season and I’m here before you with your cheques and by God’s grace, tomorrow morning, you will all smile, the chairman said.
He commended the state Governor, his deputy and commissioner of Sports and the entire people of Kano for the support they are giving to the team on a regular basis.
The chairman then charged the players and technical crew to redouble their efforts and maintain focus for the task ahead of them.
He said, the position of the club on the 20-team NPFL log is commendable but there is a need for the players to consolidate on their efforts by finishing the first stanza at the top of the log, which is the target of everyone at the club.
He maintained that the management would not relent on its efforts in giving priority to the welfare of the players.
Responding, technical adviser of the Aiteo cup holders, Mr. Emmanuel Lionel Soccoia, who spoke through the chief coach, Ibrahim A. Musa has thanked the chairman for his motivation and assured the team will not disappoint against Ifeanyi Ubah on Monday and subsequent matches so as to grab another continental ticket at the end of the season.
