NPFL: Kano Pillars Edge Old Foe To Move Two Points Clear On The League Summit By Omolagba Oluwayemi Ahmadu Bello Stadium Kaduna witnessed the best of football on Sunday evening as Kano Pillars and Enyimba clash, BSNSports.com.ng reports. With captain Ahmed Musa of Pillars and duo of Enyimba Anayo Iwuala and John Noble on national assignment, one could hardly predict where the spark will come from and that suspense made the match lived up to expectations, and also made it a match to be remembered at least for a while especially for Kano Pillars fans. With just eight minutes into the start Mbaoma's header found the back of the net, giving Enyimba the lead in the process and despite chances created by Pillars to level things, Enyimba held on to the lead for first 45 minutes. Pillars resumed the second half trailing the People's Elephant and Captain Rabi'u Ali revived the hope of sai masu gida at 52 minutes of play through penalty kick after Enyimba Int'l Fc defender pulled down Kokoette Udoh inside the box. Substitute Ifeanyi Eze completed the comeback for Pillars in the 75 minute off Nwagua Nyima's assist. The win puts Kano Pillars clear on top of the log with 48 points, two ahead of second placed Akwa United while Enyimba with 38 points dropped to 7th although with three outstanding matches. In his post match interview, Kano Pillars Acting Technical Adviser Ibrahim Musa described the game as the toughest match his side had played all season and expressed confidence that his players would write their names in gold at the end of the season. "Kano Pillars and Enyimba match is always difficult but thank God today is our day, and with this we've played ten matches unbeating this season," said Coach Ibrahim. On his part captain of the side for the evening, Rabi'u Ali reaffirmed that himself and teammates would not relent their efforts until they achieve the target which is winning the league at the end of the season which will be a sign of appreciation to the government and good people of Kano state. Pillars next game is against Rivers United in Port Harcourt while Enyimba will welcome whipping boys, Adamawa United to Aba.
