NPFL: Kwara United Stay Top After Draw At Wikki; Rangers Hold Pillars In Kaduna

Kwara United will remain top of the NPFL after they forced a 1-1 draw at Wikki Tourists today, while there were home wins for Plateau United, Nasarawa United, Rivers United and Adamawa United, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Jibola Adeleke rescued a point for Kwara United in the closing minutes at Wikki. ‘The Afonja Warriors’ now have 26 points from 14 matches. Kano Pillars moved into second place after they forced visiting Enugu Rangers to a 1-1 draw. The Flying Antelopes took the lead courtesy of Ernest Governor’s ninth minute strike. Auwalu Malam restore parity for Pillars three minutes before the break. They have 24 points, same as Enyimba, whose tie was shifted to allow them focus on their CAF Confederation Cup group game against Al Benghazi of Libya in midweek. Former champions Plateau United outclass MFM 3-1 at the New Jos Stadium. Mohammed Zulkifilu put the home team upfront in the 56th minute and strike in a brace  20 minutes later. Nojeem Adeyinka reduced the deficit for MFM in the 81st minute, but Isah Ndala restored Plateau United’s two-goal cushion four minutes before full-time. Ikenna Ofor scored the decisive goal four minutes after the break as Nasarawa United tame Lobi Stars 1-0 in Lafia. Katsina United and Sunshine Stars battled to a 0-0 at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium.
