NPFL: LMC Approve Five Substitution, AS Resumption Get Tentative Date

  By Sampson Adedeji Ahead of the new Nigeria Professional Football League season, the reports emanating from meeting of League Management Company ( LMC) has it that teams will be allow to use five substitutions during a league match, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The idea of 5 substitutions was introduced by UEFA when football wanted to restart after Corona virus crisis has affected football and clubs all over the World. The decisions has so far been dumped by most European tip flight leagues after smaller teams believed it will favour bigger. The Nigeria league body on Monday during a meeting agreed that teams should be allowed to make 5 substitutions during matches. Apart from Substitutions, they announced a tentative dates for the resumption of the league. Nigeria league has been on suspension since March 2020 due to corona virus and all efforts to restart the league proved abortive. The dates announced was November 22nd and 29th while they continue discussing with clubs for their readiness. Participating clubs in their own part are also requesting for FIFA/CAF palliative to strengthen their preparations for the league.
