NPFL: LMC approves Kwara United takeover of Delta Force, agree name change of Akwa United

After proper scrutiny and observations the League Management Company (LMC) has approved the takeover of Delta Force FC by Nigeria National League side Kwara United

The two clubs have agreed to swap the NPFL status between themselves few weeks ago but need the approval of the league body to complete the change.

In a letter to the management of Kwara United the club was issued three conditions to meet in order to receive full approval for the takeover of Delta Force FC and transfer of operational base from Asaba in Delta State to Ilorin, Kwara State.

The conditions giving to Kwara United include:

  1. Letter of undertaking from the owner of Kwara United FC to pay the salaries of players and officials as well as other operational expenses if the club as at when due
  2. A sworn declaration by Kwara United FC to comply with all the rules and regulations applicable to the Nigeria Professional Football League and statutes of the Nigeria Football Federation.
  3. Letter if Undertaking from Kwara United to respect the existing contracts of all players whose services are transferred from Delta Force to Kwara United.

Meanwhile, LMC has also approved the change of name of Akwa Starlet to Dakkada FC international of Uyo following their full compliance with requirements for change if name.
