LMC Fines Katsina United, Kano Pillars

Legue Management Company, LMC, has fined Katsina United the sum of Three Million and five hundred thousand naira (N3.5m) only and also imposed fine of One million and two hundred thousand naira only on Kano Pillars over their unruly behavior after their NPFL fixture in Katsina, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Katsina United and Kano Pillars fans were at dagger drawn in their match-day 15 Nigeria Professional Football League fixture held at the Muhammed Dikko, Stadium. The fracas left many fans hospitalized and stadium vandalised.

In a letter dated 23rd January, 2020 made available to www.bsbsports.com.ng and signed by the Chief Operating Officer of LMC, Salihu Abubakar, the league management imposed the sum of N1.5 million on Katsina United for aggravated breach of Rule C1 and also N1 million for inappropriate and aggressive misconduct by its supportters in the course of the match and failure to remain in their allocated spectators stand. Also, the sum of N1 milloon is imposed on the home team for failure to ensure ineffective security crowd control in viee of disturbance during and after the match.

Meanwhile, Katsina United remaining Nigeria Professional Football League fixtures will be played behind closed doors pilending the outcome of full investigation by the police into the incident.

The sum of N1 million is imposed on Kano Pillars for inappropriate and aggressive misconduct by its supportters in the course of the match and failure to remain in the allocated stand and Two hundred thousand is imposed on Pillars for attempting to game the system.

However, all subsequent NPFL matches between the sides will be played without fans until a lasting solution has been agreed by the clubs and other stakeholders to guarantee the peaceful behaviour of the fans and respect for public order during the matches.
