NPFL Match-day 2 Wrap: Remo Stars Winning Run Continues As MFM, Katsina Yet To Pick Point Sampson Adedeji Newly promoted Remo Stars are topping the Nigeria Professional Football League table as actions resumed in the matchday 2 of the league, BSNsports.com.ng can report. Remo stars continued their impressive run in the league as they pummeled Heartland 3-0 in Ikenne Ogun State. Ainekpe Ekong scored the opening goal from the penalty spot before Musa Bashiru sealed the win for the Uyo based team. Rivers United lived up to expectations at the Adoke Amasiamaka stadium with a 3-0 spanking of Katsina United. Rafiu netted the opening goal from the spot in the 28th minute and added the second goal in the 58th minute while Chijioke Akunneto in the 62nd minute. Like MFM FC, Katsina United are yet to pick a point in two games having lost their home match-day 1 game. Abia Warriors secured a maximum point against Sunshine Stars of Akure with a 1-0 win in Okigwe. Kano Pillars continued their not too impressive performance in the new season as they recorded a goalless draw with the visiting Lobi Stars. Plateau United also picked maximum points against Kwara United with a 1-0 win, with the lone goal from Zulkifilu at the new Jos Stadium while Wikki Tourists also managed a 1-0 win over visiting Niger Tornadoes. The total number of 16 goals were scored on matchday 2, one away win was recorded, 3 draws and 6 home wins.
