NPFL MD 15 Preview: Lobi Aim To Hold Rivers From Flowing As Plateau Utd Set To Dim Stars in Akure

The Match Day 15 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) is expected to throw some fireworks as well as effect some changes in position on the league table today across the nation.
It’s will be a battle of title contenders when the league table toppers, Lobi Stars will be guest to Rivers United in Port Harcourt today.
As it stands, Lobi Stars are on 27 points while Rivers United are on 24 points with both teams having played 19 games.
According to NPFL statistics, Lobi Stars have kept 8 clean sheets in their last 20 home games as they remain the only team yet to concede a goal at home in the league this season. They are also the only team with 100% home win this season.
Rivers United FC in actual season average scored 0.92 goals per match. In 9 (50.00%) matches played at home was total goals (team and opponent) Over 1.5 goals. In 4 (22.22%) matches in season 2020 played at home was total goals (team and opponent) Over 2.5 goals.
Lobi Stars average scored 1.08 goals per match in season 2020. In 10 (47.62%) matches played away was total goals (team and opponent) Over 1.5 goals. In 5 (23.81%) matches played away team was total goals (team and opponent) Over 2.5 goals.
Lobi Stars will be without forward Sikiru Alimi, Solomon Kwambe and defender Alexander Agahowa as the trio have sealed a deal to Stade de Tunisien and United States second division FC Tulsa respectively while it is expected that Rivers United’s coach, Stanley Eguma might make some changes to the team that lost to Dakkada FC in their away game.
A victory for the home side will mean they will be tied on the same points but may not top the table if second placed Plateau United win the game against Sunshine Stars
In Akure, Sunshine Stars will look forward to continue their fine run of form after their away win in Bauchi against Wikki Tourists, when they face second placed Plateau United who were held to a goalless draw by the resurgent Akwa United.

On the hand, Heartland pipped Abia Warriors 1-0 for the first time in 5 years in an Oriental game in Owerri.
Having lost to their bitter rivals, Heartland FC last weekend, Abia Warriors playing at home will give it all against FC Ifeanyi Ubah in another Oriental derby.
