NPFL: MFM FC Unveil Tony Bolus As Head Coach
By Admin
Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side MFM FC have unveiled Tony Bolus as the replacement to their former head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu who joined Heartland FC earlier this month.
Bolus was unveiled on Wednesday in Lagos as the club begin preparations for the 2019/20 season tentatively scheduled to start on September 22, 2019.
Bolus has previously worked as head coach at modest top division side Giwa FC (now defunct) and he has signed a three-year deal to lead the Lagos based side.
“MFM has a standard already that we really need to start building on, you know it has been a team that has been to the continent.
“Lagos State as a whole has talent and we need to build on what the former coach has put on ground. Ilechukwu has done a good job and we will continue from where he stopped,” said Bolus who was coach of Malunfashi FC in Nigeria’s second division last season.
An assistant head coach to Bolus is expected to be named next week with former Kwara United star Yemi Olanrewaju ‘YEMA’ the favourite to land the post.
Bolus is expected to work with a new set of players in the upcoming season after majority of the team’s first team players left the club following Ilechukwu’s departure.
