NPFL: Nasarawa United Still In The Title Race - Ikenna Offor Insists
Following Nasarawa United inconsistent performances recently, Nasarawa United forward, Ikenna Offor still believes the team still stands the chance of winning the league this season.
Nasarawa United started the season like a house on fire playing six games unbeaten, racking up four victories and two draws in the process including away victories at Heartland and Warri Wolves which had many talking about their chances of winning the league, but had since lost four of their last five games, placing them 7th on the log with 17 points, 4 behind league leaders Kwara United but the former Flomat FC of Abuja winger believes they still stand a chance of winning the league.
While speaking with BSNSports.com.ng, Ikenna when asked if Nasarawa United can still win the league, said;
"Why not, the league is still fresh, we've played 11 out of 38 matches and there is much possibility and when you look at the point margin, we are not far from each other."
He also attributes their recent loss of form to lost of concentration and injuries.
"Lost of concentration and injury setback are responsible for the recent performances but we will bounced back to winning ways."
Ikenna also said his target is to play football to the highest level and most especially wants to help the team this season.
"My target is to play football to the highest level and I want to make sure I keep my consistency by helping my team and scoring goals."
