NPFL: Philip Auta happy over his performance against Rivers United, target continental ticket

As the team in the Nigeria professional league are getting ready for the next match day, Abia Warriors winger is still in cloud nine over his performance in the last game

Abia Warriors held host Rivers United to a scoreless draw in Port Harcourt on Sunday with Aura being a constant threat to the backline of the host.

He expressed his happiness while he was speaking with BSN Sports on Thursday as he emerged Man of The Match in the game.

"Firstly I feel very excited because is not easy to go to another ground to pick man of the match so I feel very happy not only me but for the club and the management.

"I dedicated this award to God and my family because is not easy there are so many players out there .

"Expect many good thing to come from me this season unlike last season , I was the highest goal scored in my team Yobe stars , we scored 11 goals last season and I scored 7 goals out of it .

"I will try and do more than last season because i will play up to 16 matches throughout because of some challenges at home.

"Our target as a team this season is to secure continental ticket and that is what we really want, we sat down as a team before the season start and we deliberate and we know we can do it, we will take every match as it comes," he concluded.

Due to hi performance Auta is one of the players nominated for the player of the month in the club Ali side Oni Jimob, Perfait Jean and Godsgift Elkamlnab.
