NPFL Playoff Championship: Akwa United, Kano Pillars End In 1-1 Draw

The second match of the match day one of the Nigeria Premier Football League playoff produced a remarkable four goals and all the goals came in the first stanza of the fiercely played match.

It was Ifeanyi Ebuka who put former champions Kano pillars ahead in the 3rd minute of the game but Ndifreke Effiong levelled the game in the 30th minute.

Forward Nyima Nwagua restored Pillars lead in the 33rd minute before Godspower Aniefiok equalized in the 36th minute and ended the first half in a draw.

The second stanza resumed Promise Keeper trying to dominate the play and glorious chance fell to Mfon Udoh who failed to convert it.

Pillars was reduced to 10 men late in the game as Ifeanyi Nweke was given a marching order for off ball incidents.
