NPFL play off: Enyimba edge Rangers

By Sampson Adedeji

Former Nigeria Professional Football League champions Enyimba international of Aba started the Nigeria Professional Football League playoff on an impressive note at the Soccer Temple in Agege, Lagos.

The match christened as Oriental derby between Enyimba and Enugu Rangers lived up to expectations as the two teams gave good accounts of themselves in a thrilling encounter which put millions of soccer fans at Agege stadium on the edge of their seats.

After a goalless first half, it was Joseph Osadiaye who broke the deadlock in the 49th minute of the game.

All efforts of Flying Antelope to stage a comeback were nullified by Enyimba back line.

The results ensured that People Elephants moved top of the table pending other two games.
