Head coach of Rivers United, Stanley Eguma, felt they would have wrapped up the game in the first half had his players took their chances, BSNsports.com.ng can report.
Despite scoring first, the Pride of Rivers have to settle for a draw against Lobi Stars at the Aper Aku stadium in Makurdi.
Eguma said they created many chances in the first half but Lobi came back stronger in the second half of the match.
"It was a good match, we dominated in the first half, we have a lot of scoring chances and my players missed it, we would have wrapped up the game in the first 45 minutes.
In the second half, they came up stronger but we were able to contain them and the game ended in a draw.
Above all, it was a good game, it's the beginning of the league we are trying to size ourselves and we will learn from our mistake today and come out better next time," he stated.
