NPFL: We Still Have A Lot To Do - Akwa United Coach
Sampson Adedeji
Coach of the league champions Akwa United, Ali Jolomi, has stated that they still have a lot of work to do to be formidable this season, BSNsports.com.ng can report.
The Promise Keepers who are the defending champions of the league have to rally back from a goal down to beat Dakkada FC 3-2 on Sunday at the God'swill Akpabio stadium in Uyo.
The coach said they are yet to arrive at their destination despite recording back to back wins this season.
“Our victory against Dakkada is a clear sign that we are gradually improving game after game. We didn’t just play to the gallery but we played to win and I’m happy that we won.
“We have recorded back-to-back victories for the first time this season but the truth is that we are not there yet because we still have a great deal of work to do to ensure we have a formidable team.
“Some players have been allowed to contribute to the team and I’m particularly happy that those who have been given the chance to play didn’t disappoint. We will continue to build on the success we have recorded so far," he said.
Akwa United won the league last season for the first time in the history of the club.
