NPFL Week 9 Wrap: Akwa Utd Defeat Rivers, Adamawa Compound Nasarawa Woes, Dakkada, Pillars, Plateau Pick Point On The Road

Kano Pillars, Plateau United and Dakkada are the only three teams that picked point away from home in the nine matches played in week 9 of the 2019/20 Nigeria Professional Football League, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Meanwhile, Akwa United whose former coach, John Obuh resigned on Tuesday and replaced by Kennedy Boboye defeated Rivers United 2-1 at the Nest of Champions, Uyo.

Orok Akarandut and Samson Gbadebo on target for rejuvenated Akwa United as they went on to claim their second victory this season after outstanding Rivers United 2-1.

FC Ifeanyi Ubah returned back to winning ways after their scandalous 1-5 loss to league leaders Plateau United last Sunday, but rose up to pip Kwara United 1-0. Kwara United have lost their first two consecutive matches since taking over the mantle from Delta Force.

At the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina, Dakkada FC kept their unbeaten runs as they held Katsina United to 0-0 draw. Dakkada FC failed to score in a league for the first time bit are placed second with 16 points, just two points adrift league leaders Plateau United.

Two first half goals from Emmanuel Ugwuka and Jimoh Oni was all Abia Warriors needed against Jigawa Golden Stars to bounce back to winning ways after 0-1 loss in Makurdi.

Victor Mbaoma 80 minutes equaliser for 4th placed Enyimba FC to put smiles on the faces of the home fans, after forcing Lobi Stars to a 1-1 draw with Samad Kadiri on the score sheet for the visitors.

In Owerri, Ugochukwu Aputazie put the Naze Millionaire ahead three minutes after second half commenced, before Nyima Nwagua late minute equaliser saved the Sai Masu Gida from a defeat as they forced Heartland to a 1-1 draw at home.

In Enugu, the Flying Antelope are without a win in seven consecutive games in all competitions, the club's longest winless streak since 2005. Rangers International are placed 19th on the log with 6 points from 7 games. The visitors, Plateau United are topping the table with 18 points from 9 matches.

Elsewhere, Nasarawa United woes continued as the only team in the NPFL yet to win a match as they fell 1-2 to Adamawa United. Aboubakar Idris brace for the homers was enough to prove an edge and compounded the woes of the Solid Miners who are at tge rock bottom of the log.

Meanwhile, 5th placed Sunshine stars will play hosts to the Olukoya Boys as MFM FC seek another points on the road on Thursday at the Akure Township Stadium.
