NPFL: Why Kano Pillars Coach Resigns By Omolagba Oluwayemi Following the news of Kano Pillars coach, Soccoia Lionel's resignation, many have been wondering what could be responsible for it but in his letter to the management of the club, the French coach stated the reason for his resignation. Soccoia in his resignation letter stated that he resigned due to backlogs of unpaid salary and Management intervention in selection of players The letter addressed to Chairman of Kano Pillars FC reads, "I am hereby informing you that I am resigning as Technical Director from Kano Pillars FC with immediate effect. The reasons for my resignation are as follows; A breach of contract by Kano Pillars by not paying the arrears of five months salary as agreed in my contract; this means I no longer have any legal obligations to Kano Pillars FC. Secondly, it has come to my attention, you seem to think you should select the players who play, taking away a crucial role of my job and jeopardising the effectiveness of the team and undermining my role as Technical advisor, in particular with preparations for the game against Kwara United. Thirdly, Your refusal to fulfill your obligations by processing my work visa, by doing so putting me in harm's way with the immigration laws of Nigeria. I wish you and the team, all the very best for the future. I hope you will honour me by paying me in full, the sum of $25,000.00 owed plus ticket expenses incurred." In his letter, BSNSports.com.ng deduced that there is interference in his work and as well as some breaches in his contract but we await the press release from Kano Pillars in relation to the allegations by Soccoia Lionel.
