NPFL Wrap: Akwa United Beat Rivals To Up Set 5 Points Lead By Omolagba Oluwayemi Charles Atshimene successfully converted a stoppage time penalty to help Akwa United set five points clear ahead of rivals at the zenith of the table, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The Promise Keepers are five points clear off second place Nasarawa United who were beaten by 0-1 FC Ifeanyi Ubah. At the Fortress, Nasarawa United fell in Nnewi 2-1 to FC Ifeanyi Ubah. Pillars whose poor form on the road recently has affected their ambition have gotten just a point from their last five travels which is not a good one for a title challenger. Rivers United put themselves on level terms with second placed Nasarawa United after coming from a goal down to beat Warri Wolves, 2-1 thanks to a brace from Godwin Aguda. With the win, they leapfrog Kano Pillars to third, equal on points with Nasarawa United who is superior to them on goal difference. After the match day 32, Akwa United leads the park with 60 points, five more than closest title challengers. Nasarawa United leads the group of three on 55 points, followed by Rivers United and then Kano Pillars. Enyimba, Kwara United and Enugu Rangers are on 54, 52, 52 points respectively. At the bottom, Adamawa United (23 points, Warri Wolves (31 points) and FC Ifeanyi Ubah (34 points) maintained the bottom three positions while 17th place Jigawa Golden Stars are level on 36 points with Sunshine Stars and Wikki Tourist who occupies the 16th and 15th positions.
