NSF 2020: Naira Rain For Team Plateau State By Sampson Adedeji Plateau state has joined the growing list of states who has rewarded its athletes for the 2020 National Sports Festival held in Edo State, BSNSports.com.ng can reports. Kwara state rewarded its athletes on Monday with N250,000 for gold, N150,000 for Silver and N75,000 for bronze. Latest to join is Plateau state, as state governor Simon Lalong announced cash rewards for the state medalists. At the dinner in government house, the governor announced N1 million for gold medalists, silver medalists were to receive N700,000 and bronze medallists N500,000, while the coaches of medal-winning athletes or teams were given N300,000 each. According to NAN, the governor said, it was done in an efforts to encourage and motivate the athletes to perform better in the future events. “Although our aim was to emerge top, we are nevertheless proud of the efforts of our contingent who gave their best. “Your performance reaffirms the sporting prowess our athletes have been known for over the years, having exhibited a high level of competence, endurance, versatility, professionalism and discipline,” the Governor said. Plateau finished in 13th with a total of 37 medals, made up of eight gold, 13 silver and 16 bronze.
