NSF: Kaduna State To Bid For 2022

  By Sampson Adedeji Just as the 2020 National Sports Festival was declared open on Tuesday, Kaduna State is set to present bid for the hosting of the next edition of the event in 2022, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Kaduna State hosted the 16th edition of the festival in 2016 and if the report coming from the state sports ministry is anything to go by then they are ready to host the event again in 2022. According to the brochures released to punch correspondent from the state governor Mallam Nasir El Rufai they have started upgrading the facilities used in 2016. “We have already commenced upgrading the facilities used in 2016 to meet contemporary standards,” a statement in the brochure read. “I hereby seize this unique opportunity to reaffirm our willingness and readiness to host the biennal event and plead with the Council of Sports’ approval of Kaduna State as hosts of the 2022 National Sports Festival," he said. Some of the proposed venues are Kaduna Club, Murtala Square, Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna Township Stadium, Kaduna State University, Nigeria Defence Academy, Police College, and the Kaduna Polytechnic.
