  NUJ Set Up 7-Man Committee To Midwife SWAN Fresh Elections By Niyi Busari Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has set up seven-member committee to conduct fresh election for Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) within two months. The Committee consists of the Union's National Treasurer, Mohammed She as Chairman, Vice-president Zone F, Edward Ogude as member, Adeleye Ajayi, Lagos State Chapter Chairman also a member. This is contained in a communique released after the NEC meeting of NUJ in Asaba on Friday, 16th April, 2021 compiled by John Angese, Ishaka Dedan Donald and Ladi Emmanuel. Meanwhile, two members from the two factional SWAN national bodies will be nominated to complete the seven-member committee. With this new development, SWAN is expected to have new National Executive Council in June. Recall that there are two factional bodies in SWAN. Honour Sirawoo is the president of an independent SWAN while Ahmed Aigbona is the president of NUJ-SWAN. It is yet to be seen if Honour Sirawoo-led SWAN will be part of the new election as they have claimed to be an independent SWAN and no longer under the guidance of NUJ.
