Nura Abdullahi Insists He Will Play Football Again, Despite Heart Defect

Nura
Former AS Roma of Italy youngster, Nura Abdullahi has come out with a daring declaration that he will play football once again, despite having to endure treatment of heart defect for over a year, BSNSports.com.ng gathered. The defender-cum-defender, who was talk of the town in Italy for a long while, alongside Rio 2016 Olympic Games bronze medalist, Sadiq Umar, is putting his trust in God to help him storm back to reckoning. In what could be akin to the story of Nwankwo Kanu, who also received heart surgery at Inter Milan of Italy then went on to excel at Arsenal of England and won two African Footballer of The Year Awards (1996 and 1999), Abdullahi is looking up to divine intervention to see him through as well. Rather than become despondent over his career, Abdullahi, who was once the target of Real Madrid of Spain, said he hopes to be back playing professional football again, despite doctors warning him that his career is over because of the heart condition. The highly-rated Kaduna-born full-back was forced to quit the game while playing for Roma in April 2019, when it was discovered he had problems with his heart and the Italian club immediately terminated his contract. Though the Rome-based club then hired him as a member of their backroom staff, Abdullahi insists that is not the place for him and declared emphatically that he is on track to making a sensational comeback to the game after recent test results gave him a clean bill of health. Abdullahi told SCORENigeria: “With God everything is possible and I hope by God’s grace I will come back soon. I am very happy and I will come back stronger. The fans should continue to believe in me because I will always make them happy.”
