Nigeria’s Olympic Football gold medalist Nwankwo Kanu is set to begin coaching
Nigerian legend, Nwankwo Kanu, through the Kanu Heart Foundation, would train children in becoming footballers at the annual Greensprings/Kanu Football Camp billed for April 14 to 19 in Lagos, Bestchoicesports understands.
This was made known in a statement signed by the Brand Communication Executive of Greensprings School, Oreoluwa Ilori, as she disclosed that registration to attend the camp closes April 5. The camp was established in 2012 to enable children between the ages of five and 17 enhance their football skills.
According to Ilori, the children will be trained by coaches from English Championship side West Bromwich Albion, Dutch Football Association of The Netherlands and the Lagos State Football Association. She said, “At the end of the five-day football camp, which will feature direct mentoring and coaching from football legend, Nwankwo Kanu, awards will be given to high performing pupils with the grand prize being an educational scholarship into Greensprings School.
“In this year’s edition, Union Bank has promised to sponsor five football-loving children from underserved communities to the camp to experience world-class football training and compete for the ultimate prize of an educational scholarship to study at Greensprings School.”
