NYG 2021: Bauchi, Seven Other States Are Yet To Win Medals By Omolagba Oluwayemi As at Day-5 of the 2021 National Youth Games, Bauchi and seven other states are yet to have the feel of a medal. Bauchi State, Benue State, Borno State, Enugu State, Gombe State, Jigawa State, Yobe State and Zamfara State have all been spectators in the competition with none of their representatives so far near the podium. Meanwhile the outstanding performance of Team Delta in this year's event at the University of Ilorin is exceptional. And usual, they will emerge the winners once again. With 42 gold, 15 silver, and 13 bronze totalling 70 medals, as at Day-5 of the event, Delta States leads the medals table with two days to the final events. Far behind Delta State in second place is Team Edo with a total of 22 medals, 10 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze medals. Presently occupying the third place is Bayelsa State with 7 gold, 9 silver and 10 bronze to total 26 medals. National Youth Games is an annual grassroots events organised by the Ministry of Sports to discover budding talents across the country
