Former Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo was an unused substitute in Manchester United 2-2 draw against Southampton at the Old Trafford on Monday night, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Red Devils had hoped to beat Southampton to leapfrog Chelsea and Leicester City to the third on the log as fight for the top four continues.

Nigeria born Irish striker, Michael Oluwadurotimi Obafemi who joined Southampton in 2016 and made his debut two years later broke the heart of Manchester United fans in the 96th minute, when he taps in and easy finish following Jack Bednarek assist denied Manchester United their sixth consecutive wins.

Born in Dublin, Obafemi was eligible to represent England, Nigeria and the Republic of Ireland. However in November 2018 he committed to the Republic of Ireland.
