Obafemi Awolowo University Signs Partnership Deal with Grassroots International Sports Academy. ....National Grassroots Sports Festival Screening Starts Today. ...Opening Ceremony shifted to Tuesday By Niyi Busari The organiser of 2018 National Grassroots Sports Festival, Grassroots International Sports Academy (GISA) and the Department of Kinesiology, Health Education and Recreation, Obafemi Awolowo University have completed signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two parties on Thursday 20th April, 2018. The MoU which is a deliberate move to train and promote grassroots athletes accross the country was signed by both parties in GISA office at the National stadium Abuja. Speaking with www.bsnsports.com.ng, Chief coordinator of National Grassroots Sports Festival, Mr. Angelo Peter Elosia started by appreciating the representatives of the reputable university, saying, "Permit me to appreciate Dr. Rachael Ayodele and Prof. Okunrotifa E.B for making the partnership deal possibe by travelling down from Osun to Abuja. The essence of the partnership is to make sure we train stakeholders in the industry together accross the country." The Head of Department, Kinesiology, Heath Education and Recreation, Obafemi Awolowo University, Dr. Rachael Ayodele, congratulated and appreciated Chief Elosia Peter for his effort in developing sports at the grassroots level. According to her, the partnership will serve as a platform for young athletes at the grassroots to showcase their talents and most importantly nutured to replace the experienced ones at the national level. "I want to congratulate Chief Peter Elosia for his efforts in promoting sports st the grassroots level. The partnership between the two parties will no doubt serve as a platform with whice new talented athletes will be discovered, nutured to represent Nigeria at the international level. The days of worrying about who replaces the experinced athletes in the country is over." The partnership agreement which is the curtain raiser for the maiden National Grassroots Sports Festival whose screening starts on Friday 20th April 2018 while tje opening ceremony kicks off on Tuesday 24th April 2018.
