The goals come as a morale booster for Ighalo who has been suffering from goal drought since the start of the season. The win was the second of the season for Changchun Yatai in the Chinese Super League.
The Super Eagles striker started the scoring in the 24th minute by converting a spot-kick awarded to his team, but the home team restored parity in the 33rd minute through Wei Du.
Two minutes later Long Tan put Changchun Yatai into the lead again to make the score 2-1 before Ighalo scored his second goal to extend the lead to 3-1 just before halftime.
On resumption of the second period Wang scored for Guizhou Hengfeng in the 60th minute to cut the lead to 3-2 and the scores remained that way with Guizhou Hengfeng threatening to score an equaliser.
However, the former Watford striker, Ighalo, had the last laugh as he scored two late goals in the 86th and 90th minute to make the score 5-2 in favour of Changchun Yatai.
The win moves Changchun Yatai to 10th position on the log of the Chinese Super League with eight points from seven games.
This is the second time Odion Ighalo will be scoring four goals in one match in his professional career, the first time he achieved that was in 2015 in the colours of Watford when they were playing in the Sky Bet Championship before Watford gained promotion to the English Premiership. Ighalo netted four goals to help Watford record a 7-2 thrashing of Blackpool.
