Ogun To Battle Lagos In Rising Stars U17 Girls Basketball Championship Final

Ogun State U17 Girls Basketball team will on Thursday slug it out with their Lagos counterparts in the final of the inaugural Southwest Rising Stars U17 Girls Basketball Championship at the Indoor Sports Hall of National Stadium, Surulere Lagos.
Lagos State won all their five matches to top the table and will face Second-placed Ogun State who won three matches and picked the ticket ahead of Ekiti State on head to head rule. Rejuvenated Ekiti State U17 Girls team who lost their first match to Osun bounced back to win three games in five and ended the round-robin tournament with the same points with Ogun.
However, Ogun edged Ondo 26-24 on Match-day 1 to pick the second-placed ticket ahead of the Gateway State.
Meanwhile, the whipping girls, team Oyo and Osun are out of the competition as Ekiti face Ondo in contention for the Third best team of the maiden Southwest tournament.
There will be no matches today as all atheltes will be gathered and will be lectured on their career and education. The motivational speech will be delivered by the alumni of Olumide Oyedeji Youth Foundation and popular dancer, Kaffy. The atheltes will also be taking round the City and cease the opportunity to visit strategic places in Lagos ahead of Thursday's final and Third place matches.
The final and Third place matches will hold on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the Indoor Sports Hall of National Stadium Surulere, Lagos.
