Technical Adviser of Rangers International F.C, Olugbenga Ogunbote has said that the club is still committed to winning the NFF/Aiteo Federation cup.
The final of the 2018 edition of the tournament will take place in Asaba the Delta State capital between Rangers and arch rivals Kano Pillars inside the main bowl or the Stephen Keshi stadium on October 24, 2018.
Ogubote who made this known in Enugu on Tuesday said that the club’s resolution to win the Aiteo cup before the commencement still remains intact.
“Before the start of the national tournament, we decided that we are going for the trophy and since then we have been working and taking it a game after the other. Our agreement is that we have to face the one game that is separating us from the trophy with determination and our last strength.”
On the issue of weather, Ogunbote said that his team will deal with any weather they meet on ground on that day.
“Though, acclimatization to Kano State weather may or may not have played a role in our success to the final but the organizers fixed the final to October 24. As it stands now there is nothing anybody can do about the long date after the semi-final and our take is to prepare well for the final and ensure that we win the trophy after 90 minutes of action,” Ogunbote said.
The coach said that the team camp is bubbling and the players, technical crew and the management waiting eagerly for the final day.
He also called on the supporters of the club to give them their maximum supports so that they will see the best of Rangers.
Rangers come from two goals down to beat Nasarawa United 4-2 at the semi-final to set up a mouthwatering final with Kano pillar who beat Kastina United 4-1 after a pulsating 2-2 draw.
