Okagbare clinches gold at Diamond league in Stanford

Nigeria's track sensation Blessing Okagbare continue her good for in the Diamond league meet on Sunday as she recorded another win.

Okagbare who finished first in Rabat just like week beat the favorites duo of Elaine Thompson and Dina Asher Smith in the keenly contested 200 meters. Okagbare ran a 22.05 personal best emerged top in her 10th attempt in the meet. For her effort, Okagbare picked a cheque for $10,000 and eight maximum points which has hauled her from eighth in the Diamond League standings to joint third with Thompson on 14 points behind Asher-Smith on 22 points and Dafne Schippers of the Netherlands who has 17 points albeit she finished sixth in the race.

Next on the agenda for Okagbare is Diamond League meeting this Friday in Lausanne, Switzerland.
