Okagbare Set New Meet Record At The PTS Meeting In Slovakia By Uche Dozie Nigeria's Blessing Okagbare in her first time at the Slovakia won the 100 metres final in the Contentinal Tour silver PTS Meeting in Samorin, Slovakia setting a new meeting record, BSNSports.com.ng reports. She ran another sub 11s to clock 10.98 with (-0.1) a slight headwind becoming the first woman to ever run under 10 secs at the PTS Meeting. She broke Jamila Kratochvilova of Czech Republic 1983 Meet Record of 11.09s. When asked after the race how it feels to be the first woman to run under the elevens in Slovakia, Okagbare said: “I’m excited and honoured to be the first woman to run under elevens. It is a great honour. I'm happy to be here. It is my first time and it is being amazing." The 32-year-old Nigerian outran Ciara Neville of Ireland who clocked 11.47s to finish second and Naomi Sedney of the Netherlands with a time of 11.48s to take third. Okagbare continue her good form after an impressive outing at the Doha Diamond League last week, where she ran a brilliant SB of 10.90s to finish second behind Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce also with a SB of 10.84s.
