Nigeria’s number one goalkeeper Maduka Okoye finally picked up his first clean sheet of the season in the Eredivisie as Sparta Rotterdam secured their second win of the campaign with a 3-0 win at Willem II, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Before Saturday, Okoye had not kept a clean sheet in 11 league games this season. However, he had one of his most comfortable matches at the Koning Willem II Stadion.
Prior to Saturday’s win, Sparta Rotterdam had gone seven consecutive league games without victory (four defeats, three draws).
They last tasted a win in the league back in September 12 when they beat Fortuna Sittard 3-1.
A brace from Bart Vriends and a solitary strike from Emanuel Emegha, secured the comfortable win for Sparta Rotterdam.
The win took Sparta out of the relegation zone to 15th on 10 points in the 18-team league table.
