Reading of England midfielder, Michael Olise has become the English Championship club’s most expensive player of the current dispensation, with a surge to 12m Euro, following his burst of form and a spot in Nigeria’s national team, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Although the former France youth international, who was named the English Football League Young Player of the Month for December, has been considered only good enough for the Super Eagles’ standby list, the nod he got from Eagles’ coach, Gernot Rohr has been deemed valuable enough to shoot his stock a massive grade higher. This is based on latest value figures announced by Transfermarkt, which identified Olise as the 11th most expensive player overall in the English Championship, a day after he was named on standby for the Eagles’ upcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Republic of Benin and Lesotho. A report by allnigeriasoccer.com adds: “The former Chelsea schoolboy has gained four million euros and is now valued at 12 million. Around a year ago, Olise’s market value was just 800,000 euros but his valuation started to rise after forcing his way into the Royals’ first team reckoning. “To date, the 19-year-old has 62 first team appearances under his belt and on the international stage he represented France at the prestigious Toulon Tournament in 2019. Olise is the most expensive player at Reading, ranks 16th among all 2001-born players, and the 63rd most expensive attacking midfielder in the world.”
