Olympic-bound Elizabeth Anyanacho Wins Gold Medal In Beirut Open By Niyi Busari Olympics-bound Nigeria taekwondo athlete, Elizabeth Anyanacho won gold medal in the just-concluded WT G-2 Beruit Open two weeks after her silver medal feat at the African Taekwondo Championship, BSNSports.com.ng can report. Elizabeth who has qualified for the Olympics returns to Nigeria today (Monday) and following her recent form, will be looking forward to finishing on the podium in the Olympics in Japan. Anyanacho said that the tourney helped her gained more experience and confidence ahead of the Olympics. She said, "My performance at this event increases my confidence ahead of the Tokyo Olympics. It is a very difficult challenge but we will keep pushing towards the target. She added, "I am happy to improve everyday. I learnt a lot out myself in the ring as I kept trying new things and different attitude. "I learnt even more from my more experienced opponents. I had to give everything, so I thank them for helping me develop even more. Many thanks to my mentor, who never likes being mentioned.
