Olympic Eagles Fail To Score As Warm-up Match Against Niger Tornadoes Ends In Stalemate

The Nigeria U23 national team on Tuesday morning could not defeat relegated Niger Tornadoes in a warm up match at the FIFA Goal Project, Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

The match which was the first friendly game the Egypt bound team played before leaving for the Nations Cup saw both sides losing many scoring chances.

Imama Amapakabo-led side despite the arrival of three foreign based players Kelechi Nwakali, Tom-Dele Bashiru and Orji Okonkwo to boost the attacking option of the team, yet they were unable to break the stubborn Tornadoes' defense who put up a decent play.

However, the Nigeria U23 team inability to score a team in the Nigeria National League worries many football fans who trooped to the pitch to watch their darling team play.

The Olympic Eagles' scoring ability will also be put to test when they face Alhan Cup champions, Nasarawa United later today .

Nigeria were drawn in the same group with Cote d'Ivoire, South Africa and Zambia. The Nigeria side will leave the country for the 2019 U23 African Nations Cup on Thursday.
