Dream Team VII thrash Sudan, qualify for AFCON

Nigeria's Dream Team VII on Tuesday at the Stephen Keshi stadium in Asaba joined the teams who are safely through to group stage of the 2019 U-23 African Cup of Nations after resounding victory over Sudan, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

BSN Sports report that the Nigeria side required two goal margin to be able to through to the CAF organised African Nations Cup for the U23 after a 0-1 loss to the Sudanese in the first leg played at Omburdman.

Dream Team VII knew what it at stake as they took the game to the Sudanese from the blast of the whistle and paid off quickly when Mainz 05 striker Taiwo Awoniyi netted the first goal in the 8th minute after the Sudanese goalkeeper parried Sunusi bullet shot.

Forward Ndifreke Effiong scored a brace in the 27th and 45th minute to give the home side a comfortable 3-0 lead going into the locker room.

Sunday Faleye made 4-0 in favour of Nigeria before Sunusi Ibrahim completed the routs and netted the 5th goal in the 71st minute.

Nigeria qualified with 5-1 on aggregate and qualified for 2019 U23 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.

The tournament is scheduled for November.
