Onazi Eyes Super Eagles Return

After staying out of national team for more than a year, midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi is nursing staging a comeback to the Nigeria's Super Eagles, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

The former assistant captain of the team was part of Nigeria team to the Russia 2018 World Cup but was unable to make the 2019 African Cup Of Nations in Egypt due to injury.

While speaking to Brila fm Radio, Onazi said the relationship between him and head coach Gernot Rohr is great and always put a call through anytime Nigeria win a match.

“I was injured that’s why I wasn’t in the national team, I speak with the coach sometimes, and I also congratulated him on his new deal, but you can’t be speaking to the coach all the time, because my job is to play.

And when I’m doing that pretty well, I’m sure I will be back in the team again.” brila.net

Former Trabzonspor player who has made 51 appearances for Nigeria last played against Seychelles.
