Onumonu Bags A Brace In Debut As Super Falcons Edge Cote d'Ivoire Ifeoma Onumonu bagged a brace as the Super Falcons edged out Cote d'ivoire 2-0 in the first leg of their final qualifying round for the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Abuja on Friday. The opening minutes was a cagey affair with both teams struggling to stamp their authority in the game Onumonu however fired the Super Falcons ahead from inside the box in the 21st minute after she was set up by Esther Okoronkwo. The Ivorians poured forward in search of an equaliser afterwards but Chiamaka Nnadozie produced a number of superb saves to deny the visitors. Onumonu scored Nigeria’s second of the game four minutes before the hour mark lobbing the ball over the Ivorian goalkeeper. The second leg will take place next Wednesday at the Stade Robert Champroux, Abidjan.
