Opinion: The Battle to Win Media War in the Ongoing NFF Leadership Crisis

THE BATTLE TO WIN THE MEDIA WAR IN THE ONGOING NFF LEADERSHIP CRISIS. By Editor Its widely concluded that first vice President of CAF, Amaju Pinnick has a strong hold on the Lagos sporting media and it is also believed , that is the reason why many of the Lagos sporting media tilt towards his narrative more on the ongoing NFF leadership crisis. I personally believe there is no problem, if anybody enjoys goodwill from the media, but it is only slavery for the media profession, if we allow gladiators or administrators to dictate our content. The story making the rounds, though difficult to believe, is that administrators are now editors of some media houses. They dictate whose stories should fly and painfully, stories from the Amb. Chris Giwa led board fall into categories of stories that should not be given visibility. I have it on good authority that some persons were given a standing order to blacklist any story from the Giwa board ? The objective is to give a semblance that all is well in the NFF. I have personally heard all kinds of stories why Giwa stories are not being used by some media houses. from ' I can't use the story o, because my oga said any stories against Amaju Pinnick must not go', to ' the last time I used a story on Giwa , they called my office and even reported me to the editors forum '. I even learnt that once a story on Giwa is carried , they mark the writer of the story their enemies.As they have done to some few editors and reporters I know in Lagos .But the question I ask myself is , has it gotten to this ? Because of NFF crisis ? If the two factions are playing their politics , must we allow them bring it to our job and ridicule our editorial and ethical standards. In any case they say, he who pays the piper dictates the tune. Little wonder the administrators can talk to us anyhow because of "SEE FINISH " . We should not forget by the time we dance to the rhythm of one group to blacklist the narrative of the other group , it's the society, that ordinarily, we should be loyal to , that we are shortchanging in terms of balance news .I also learnt anytime the print media especially , carry story from Giwa, the next thing is a phone call from the other camp complaining why the paper used such story. If we allow the adminitrators start dictating our editorial content , that will be suicidal for our profession. One thing I know for a fact , Giwa has never, one day, told the media houses that he enjoys goodwill from to blacklist any story from Pinnick's group. Giwa cannot even say that and I know with his kind of person he does not believe in such media politics . If any of the groups either Pinnick or Giwa believes they are on the right track , why should anyone be afraid to let Nigerians and even the sporting world at large, know the true narrative of the crisis from both camps? One thing I am certain, darkness will never triumph over light. Lies may travel thousands of kilometers ahead of the truth, it will only be a question of time before truth overtakes it.
