Opinion: Why Some People Hate Dalung.....By Michael Obasi

FACT FILE ON NFF CRISES : By Michael Obasi The deliberate campaign of blackmail and persistent insults on the Minister of sports, Bar. Solomon Dalung will only continue to show where our loyalty is in the NFF crises. I will not subscribe to the conclusion that a particular group has paid for all of these to be done consistently against the minister but I have my fears. I also know that some persons just jump at things for fear of being forgotten (it must be seen that am also in the fore front of showing support , the thinking sometimes). One thing Solomon Dalung has shown in this crises is, 'if I will be the only man among those working with President Buhari that will tell him the truth on the current state of Nigerian football, so be it. Some have gone through the back doors to try and misinform the President on the state of things, some tried to drop lies, drop false alarm, even blackmail his party APC ahead of 2019 elections, all because of interest, political affiliation and friendship. Some of us understand the plans so well, which is, continuous insults, blackmail on the minister, to paint him as the problem. Their objective is to paint him black so that the President will have no option than to sack him. All because he is insisting he will not misinform and ill advised the president to disobey and disregard the rule of law that gave him the power to be the President of Nigeria. It is that rule of law that made former President conceded defeat despite being the sitting President. What is actually the offence of Dalung that warrant all these calculated and some times sponsored blackmail ? Simply because he is obeying Supreme Court judgement that he was never the one that gave. A supreme Court judgement that both Amaju Pinnick and Amb. Chris Giwa had legal representatives and Giwa won. So, it is the Minister's fault that someone from his state won NFF lingering leadership battle? Or do we think the minister should have helped Pinnick to influence the outcome of the Supreme Court judgement? Have we asked ourselves why was Pinnick not able to get a favorable judgement at the country's apex court. Why? Is that Dalung's fault? 2. So Dalung should have placed FIFA statute above Nigeria's law and tell President Buhari to jettison the ruling from the supreme Court in favour of FIFA statutes? Beyond Giwa and Pinnick, we should not forget that if he does that, beyond the judicial suicide he would have committed , our football would have naturally returned to the web of some few both at home and in FIFA. I hear some people saying Dalung is the problem and he is the one that made Giwa NFF president. Haba! Even if Dalung was not the minister of sports, it will be hard for any other person in that position to do otherwise, no matter the (Ghana must go bag) that he will be promised or love he will be having for Pinnick. Even if all the ministers in the federal executive council meeting love Pinnick and want to help him , they cannot do anything if the COURT ORDERS ARE NOT VACATED. For the sake of reality check , as it stands now PINNICK BOARD IS NOT KNOWN TO THE LAW THAT MAKES YOU AND I NIGERIANS . This is not a statement of hatred, it's not a statement of lies and blackmail but a statement that has been reaffirmed by Nigeria's highest court (Though some persons are still leaving in self denial on this ). Do we even know that if the orders of court are not vacated with or without Giwa today, anybody can pick up the judgement of the Supreme Court and go to court to sue anybody that is doing business with Pinnick as NFF president because the laws of our land do not know him in that capacity. I guess many don't know this, but they themselves know. That is why they have tried to get the case vacated more than once. So, some of us think for Dalung to be our friends and be in our good books he must jettison the orders of court and use his office to embrace Pinnick as Nff president. The Minister they claimed installed Giwa (in their words ) is the same man that has set up a well formidable reconciliatory committee to find a lasting remedy to the country's football. Or can we fault the Calibre of people in the committee? Or are the former Nff Presidents and secretary generals in the Committee all from Plateau state?.
