Mascot for AFCON U23 unveil

Ahead of the Friday kick off of the 2019 U23 African Cup of Nations, organisers of the competition has unveiled the mascot for the tournament, BSNSports.com.ng understands

BSN reports that all qualified eight teams including Nigeria Dream Team VII are already gathered in Egypt for the events, ready for the tournament.

The mascot which was unveiled on Thursday afternoon has a name Heron Herons, is bird that lives in warm agricultural areas and it feeds on fish and frog .

It also feeds on agricultural pest which earned title friend of peasant.

Eight teams grouped into two groups of four teams with top two teams progress into the last four while top and the three teams will represent Africa at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games.

Nigeria's Dream Team VII will open their campaign against Cote d'Ivoire on Saturday.
