Osayi-Samuel Faces Fresh Brick Wall In Transfer Prospects At QPR

Queens Park Rangers of England winger, Bright Osayi-Samuel is facing a fresh brick wall in his aspirations for an exit from Loftus Road, following a declaration by the club’s coach that the Nigerian-born youngster is a key part of his plans for the future. BSNSports.com.ng reports that, in a semblance of a thorny transfer debacle that eventually saw Osayi-Samuel miss out on an almost sealed move to Club Brugge of Belgium during the summer, the fleet-footed lad could jolly well miss another deal in January or at the end of the season. This is sequel to a declaration by QPR coach, Mark Warburton, who declared that the team will not be held to ransom over Osayi-Samuel’s new contract, even as news keep spreading that the 22-year-old is again being linked with a host of clubs. Unlike last year, when clubs outside England led the race for his signature, teams interest in Osayi-Samuel heading into 2021 included the English Premier League trio of Leicester City, Leeds United and Burnley as well as Celtic of Scotland. They have all been attracted by Osayi-Samuel’s consistently top-notch performances and goals in the English Championship, but Warburton stressed that he would rather keep a hold of the youngster, who has a single cap with the Super Eagles. Warburton told West London Sport: “There are always things that crop up and occur. At times you hit a stalemate in certain discussions and negotiations. But the talking goes on. We just have to wait and see what happens. Offers will be made and discussions are ongoing. “There is and that always happens in any business. Sometimes you have to be strong and firm. QPR will do what’s best for QPR. We have to look after QPR and although there might be some short-term pain, I think it’s longer-term gain.”
