Oshimen Opens Scoring Account for Sporting Charleroi

By Ifeanyi Emmanuel Nigeria international Victor Osimhen,19, scored his first goal as a professional footballer as Sporting Charleroi were held to a 1-1 draw by Waasland-Beveren in the eighth round of matches in the Belgian First Division A on Saturday evening. On his full debut for Sporting Charleroi, an improvised effort from the Wolfsburg loanee gave the home team the lead but his goal was cancelled out by Nana Opoku Ampomah five minutes after the restart. Prior to his 19th minute goal, Osimhen had logged 391 minutes on the pitch in total for both Wolfsburg and Sporting Charleroi in all competitions without registering his name on the score-sheet. Today's match against Waasland-Beveren was his 19th game as a professional, of which only four were starts. Osimhen's first senior goal comes 2 years, 10 months and 14 days after he won the Golden Boot at the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup with ten goals.
