Oshoala was named yesterday by Confederation of African Football CAF at the Football Awards held in Egypt.

In a congratulatory message, Dalung said that Oshoala’s 4th CAF award was a testament to her hard work and discipline.

“I congratulate you on this very special occasion . This award is a reflection of your resilience and contribution to the growth of football in the country. You’re truly a shining star.

“To whom more is given, more is expected, so having won this award several times, you’re expected to set the tune of exemplary leadership in women’s football. I urge you to inspire and bring hope to young girls in Nigeria who see you as a role model. May your light never grow dim”, Dalung said.

Oshoala polled 351 votes beating Cameroonian forward Ajara Nchout by over 30 votes as well as Thembi Kgatlana who garnered 247 votes.
