Osimhen
Nigerian international forward Victor Osimhen may be out for up to a month if the result of the neurological examination he is undergoing today requires him to stay off the football pitch for sometime, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The Napoli striker returned to Naples on Monday after his release by the Papa Giovanni hospital in Bergamo following the scary incident during the Serie A game between Atalanta and Napoli on Sunday evening at the Gewiss Stadium where he suffered a head injury and lost consciousness.
The Super Eagles star, according to today’s edition of Il Mattino, an Italian newspaper was reportedly discharged in good condition and he is due to undergo a thorough neurological examination at the Pineta clinic Grande from Castel Volturno, decisive for establishing the precise timing of his return to the field. “For cases of head trauma in professional sport there is a very rigorous protocol to be respected and the content of the diagnosis will therefore guide the steps of the Napoli medical staff, in accordance with which it will be subsequently established when the Nigerian player can resume at full capacity physical activity. It ranges from a couple of days rest to a forced rest of at least a month. But the optimism is justified by the outcome of the CT scan and other hot tests performed on Sunday night, immediately after the ten-minute ambulance ride from the Gewiss Stadium to the nearest emergency room “,reports the newspaper.
