Osimhen Gradually Making Progress, Capable Of Lot More – Gattuso

Osimhen
SSC Napoli of Italy striker, Victor Osimhen has received a fresh dose of positive news about his return to scoring form with the Italian Serie A side, as coach of the team, Gennaro Gattuso is of a view that the club’s costliest player ever is making progress in his recovery. While further attesting that Osimhen will get better once he gets more games under his feet, following a dislocated shoulder he suffered during action with the Super Eagles in November, Gattuso added that the former VfL Wolfsburg of Germany, Sporting Charleroi of Belgium and Lille Metropole of France star is capable of doing even better than he currently is. BSNSports.com.ng reports further that Osimhen has played three matches back at Napoli, following the long-running should injury and a positive test for coronavirus at a point he was expected back in action earlier, but he is yet o regain the spark he is known for. However, rather than dwell on Osimhen’s blunt edges, Gattuso declared shortly after his side were beaten 3-1 by Atalanta in a Coppa Italia semi-final clash at Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo on Wednesday evening that Osimhen will soon be back at his very best and even better than before. The home team were quick out of the blocks as they were two goals ahead inside sixteen minutes, Duván Zapata and Matteo Pessina the scorers, Hirving Lozano reduced the arrears on 53 minutes and Matteo Pessina wrapped up the scoring in the 78th minute. Osimhen took a giant step toward building up his match fitness when he was named in the starting lineup for the first time in three months and was on the turf for 78 minutes before his substitution, but Gattuso noted that the striker is still lacking sharpness in front of goal after his long spell out on the sidelines. Gattuso told Napoli’s official website: “It’s not easy to be at the top of the game after being out for 94 days. He’s still lacking that sharpness, which is his main asset, but he’s gradually making progress. He’s capable of much more.”
